Actor Set To Portray Steve Austin In ‘Young Rock’ Revealed

As the TV series Young Rock gets ever more up to date, the actor that is set to portray his long-time rival Stone Cold Steve Austin has been revealed.

Young Rock is NBC’s sitcom produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions and WWE which tells the life story of how The Great One came to be. Many stars of wrestling’s past have been portrayed in the series so far with a potentially major role now also filled.

The Rock took to social media to share a still from Young Rock that shows a young Rocky Maivia meeting a certain Texas Rattlesnake backstage for the very first time. The part of Austin is being portrayed by the owner of Wildkat Wrestling based in New Orleans, Luke Hawx. The Rock wrote:

“PRO WRESTLING aficionados get ready ⚜️ a very special episode of @NBC’s YOUNG ROCK airs THIS TUESDAY! 1996: Backstage. @WWE locker room. Rocky Maivia meets The Ringmaster for the first time.”

“I had never wrestled an actual real match in my life, so on this night in front of 15,000 rabid and wild pro wrestling fans – I was thrown headfirst into the fire to see if I could take the heat and survive.”

“This night changed my life forever.”

Following The Rock’s revelation, Luke Hawx also took to social media to share his thoughts on the role:

“The correct words for this is HELL YEAH! I’ve kept this secret for a good while now but I’m so happy to announce that I have joined the cast of NBC’s Young Rock as the greatest wrestling superstar of all-time Steve Austin! My debut episode comes out this Tuesday night and I am thrilled to be a part of NBC’s #1 Comedy”
