Steve Austin explained his reasoning for turning down $1 million from Logan Paul.
Stone Cold Steve Austin made two appearances at WrestleMania 41, first appearing on April 19th alongside Bret Hart to celebrate their WrestleMania 13 match being honored in the WWE Hall of Fame. On April 20th, Austin announced the attendance for the night after accidentally crashing his ATV into the barricade at ringside. According to Austin, the ATV’s controls weren’t the same as he was used to, resulting in a not-so-great night at the office.
However, Austin had another offer on the table when it came to appearing on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Logan Paul recently revealed that he offered Steve Austin $1 million to wear the Prime bottle costume at WrestleMania, an offer Austin rejected.
Speaking in a new interview with Ariel Helwani, Austin addressed Paul’s claim. He said he originally considered the offer to be “personal business,” but had no problem confirming the story now that it’s public knowledge.
“So since it’s out there, yeah, I turned it down.”
Continuing, the WWE Hall of Famer explained that he’s not familiar with Prime and didn’t want to represent a brand without knowledge of it.
“I’m in the beer business. I sell Broken Skull Beer. And you know, we’re in about 25 or 30 states. I don’t know anything about his product. I don’t know about the ingredients in it, if it’s good, if it’s bad, or whatever. So, you know, it just it wasn’t my thing. So, you know, yeah, I turned it down just because I wasn’t into it.”
Austin made it clear that he didn’t have any ill will toward the former United States Champion or his product, saying:
“And that’s no disrespect to him or his product.”
“It’s Just Not My Gimmick” – Steve Austin
Continuing, Steve Austin explained that while he wishes Paul well in his business endeavors, dressing up as a mascot wasn’t a good fit for his own persona.
“No man, it just not my gimmick, you know. Like I said, he’s doing really well. Obviously he’s hustling and he’s going and getting it and more power to him. It just wasn’t a great fit for Steve Austin.”
Also in the interview, Steve Austin admitted he was not completely sold on a recent announcement.
In recent news, Logan Paul has attacked Jey Uso after Raw went off the air.
