As speculation continues to swirl around Stone Cold Steve Austin and a potential comeback, the WWE Hall of Famer himself has now moved to comment on the rumours.
On November 14th it was reported that not only were WWE interested in Austin having another match, they had offered him a deal to come back. Austin was last in action at WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Kevin Owens. The match was his first in 19-years, ending an injury-enforced retirement. At the time it was noted that the Texas Rattlesnake was incredibly pleased with how the match went.
Steve Austin Comments On Speculation
Just to add to the wave of speculation, the news of an offer for an in-ring return coincided with the star sharing a number of workout videos on social media.
As the internet ran wild with potential dream matches and WrestleMania main events, Steve Austin remained quiet, until now. In a new update on Instagram, Steve Austin said that he was training as he simply got tired of “looking like sh*t.” Although interestingly, he doesn’t deny that a WWE appearance could be in his future.
“People have been speculating ‘Hey Steve, what are you doing? What are you training for? You training for an event?’ You can speculate what you want, I just looked in the mirror and realised that I looked like sh*t, so I called my diet coach up…
As far as bodyweight goes, probably sub 232 [lbs] the leanest I’ve been in sh*t, forever. Anyway that’s the bottom line, I just got tired of, I looked in the mirror and I looked like sh*t. Got tired of looking like sh*t, so I’m taking action to do something about it.”
It was recently reported that there is “no smoke without fire” and there have been discussions over the legend getting back in the ring. The report noted that the ideas that are being discussed are being kept secret.
