It has been revealed that Steve Austin was backstage at a recent WWE event, just three months after his return to the ring at WrestleMania 38.
On July 10th WWE held a live event in Reno, Nevada featuring a number of high-profile stars from Friday Night SmackDown.
On the card, Liv Morgan defended her newly won SmackDown Women’s Title in a Triple-Threat Match against Natalya and Ronda Rousey. In the end, Morgan picked up the win by pinning the Queen of Harts.
In the hours after the show, the star also revealed that WWE royalty was in attendance, watching on from backstage. In a post on social media, Natalya wrote that Steve Austin was at the show, watching every match, before calling the WWE Hall of Famer “the best.”
Austin, who lives nearby, responded by praising the crowd, commenting that the performers gave them “helluva show.”
Reno was a damn good crowd. In it from start to finish. Y’all gave em a helluva show and that’s the bottom line.

Although the show may have been a hit with fans, it appears that it didn’t quite go off smoothly. After the event, footage emerged online showing the finish to the match involving Natalya, Rousey and Morgan. In the clip, Morgan picks up the win, but Natalya immediately “no-sells” her rival’s finishing move and appears to have an angry exchange of words with the new champion before leaving the ring.
After winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money In The Bank, it has already been announced that Liv Morgan will be defending the title against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam.
