Steve Austin Among Multiple Big Names Being Discussed For WrestleMania By WWE

Steve Austin is one of the many names being talked about for a WrestleMania appearance.

WrestleMania 40 could be the most historic and star-studded event in a number of years. With this being the first Mania since WWE was taken over by Endeavor, it is expected that the new owners will be putting on a show to break as many records as possible. Although the show was always going to be popular, The Rock’s first major match in over a decade and a strong indication that Cody Rhodes will finish the story have been crucial in the spiking of popularity.

With the show being known for celebrity appearances and shock cameos from legends and Hall of Famers, fans are anticipating one or two surprises in Philadelphia. According to a new report, two of the biggest stars of The Attitude Era are among those listed.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Austin, The Undertaker and John Cena are expected to be at the event over the weekend. As has been the case with many previous appearances, it will all come down to cash and/or creative:

Nothing is official but the belief right now is that Steve Austin, Undertaker and John Cena will have something at WrestleMania in some form. At press time, there is no creative locked in for Cena and Austin at this moment, or if there is it’s a well-guarded secret. A lot depends on how much they are willing to do and money. Cena is free but depending on what acting stuff he has and how quick after he’s filming would determine how much he can or can’t do for insurance reasons. Austin and Undertaker would be based on willingness that they have

John Cena has been previously rumoured that an appearance at WrestleMania would be limited on the amount of physicality he is allowed to be involved in.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s Legendary List Of WrestleMania Moments

The Texas Rattlesnake has been involved in a number of historic events at The Showcase of the Immortals. 1997 saw Austin compete at WrestleMania 13 in a submission match against Bret Hart, which is still regarded as one of the best Mania matches of all time almost 30 years later. One year on the Austin Era would begin as Stone Cold defeated Shawn Michaels to become the new WWE Champion.

Austin’s Mania legacy would continue with highlights including his trilogy of matches with The Rock and the most recent match of his career against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in his home state of Texas.

According to a new report, everything is done on purpose in regards to WrestleMania 40.

In a recent interview, Steve Austin named the rivalry that “changed everything.”
