Stephen Merchant Reveals Bizarre Request The Rock Makes In Restaurants

The Rock and Stephen Merchant speak on Fighting With My Family

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has always been in considerably outstanding shape, but Stephen Merchant has divulged a strange request The Rock will make when out for dinner.

You don’t get jacked overnight. The Rock is walking proof of this as, despite always being in amazing shape for the duration of his wrestling career, he’s now one of the most ripped names in Hollywood. For him, this happened by creating a strict regiment and sticking by it.

He’s so strict, in fact, that when the former WrestleMania headliner goes out for dinner, he doesn’t indulge himself in the restaurant’s best offering. Instead, he’ll take his own meal for them to heat up. Stephen Merchant revealed this shocking fact during an appearance on Sirius XM Radio:

“Someone told me – maybe he told me – that when he goes for dinner with friends, he’ll have to take his food to the restaurant and have them heat it up because it’s such a structured diet.”

For anyone else, this is a request that would get you nothing more than a strange look and a cold plate. For The Rock, however, it would be difficult to turn down any request made by him. Merchant further explained the ‘The Brahma Bull’s’ diet, noting how a meeting over WrestleMania weekend was interrupted by a scheduled meal:

“I do remember having a meeting with him in Texas, just before WrestleMania, and we were in his hotel room having this meeting about [Fighting With My Family], and yeah, like his alarm would go off on his phone at sorta 3:17 and he’d go to the fridge, and there’d be like turkey and rice with like 3:17 written on it, and he’d have to microwave it. It was so regimented; it was extraordinary.”

Stephen Merchant and The Rock worked together for the hit 2019 film Fighting With My Family, which saw the pair co-produce and co-star. Merchant also wrote and directed the project, which centred around the journey from Norwich to WWE of ex-WWE Divas Champion Paige.
