Hollywood star Stephen Amell has revealed which WWE Superstar he’d like to face, should he ever return to the company.
The former Arrow star saw his first taste of pro wrestling action at WWE Summerslam 2015, teaming with Neville (now AEW’s PAC) against King Barrett and Stardust (Cody Rhodes).
Amell formed a close relationship with Rhodes as a result, leading to a match in Ring of Honor and a feature spot on the pre-AEW All In show, where he wrestled Christopher Daniels in a singles match.
Now heading up his own wrestling-themed TV show ‘Heels’, which features man of the moment CM Punk, Amell has revealed who else he would like to share a ring with:
My man-crush on Kevin Owens is alive and well. I love the way that guy works and the way he works a crowd. Cody and I have been circling a singles match for the longest time. I know that he’d take care of me and that we can tell a story in there. You’re going to have to convince my wife first ultimately.
A match with either Owens or Rhodes would surely be a box office affair and one that would showcase the additional pro wrestling training which Amell received whilst filming Heels.
Given Amell’s obvious fandom, it’s entirely possible that we will see him return to a wrestling ring again in the not-so-distant future.
