Stephanie Vaquer Teases MMA Jump To Work With “Best Friend” In UFC

WWE star Stephanie Vaquer

Stephanie Vaquer is open to working in MMA for a chance to work with her best friend in the UFC.

Stephanie Vaquer already had quite an impressive following even before she joined WWE last year. Her popularity upon joining the Stamford-based promotion only doubled, possibly even more, and her success in NXT followed her to the main roster.

Although Stephanie Vaquer is already accomplished as a professional wrestler, that doesn’t mean becoming an MMA fighter is something she has completely shut off.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Stephanie Vaquer said that she enjoyed training MMA style back in Mexico. She shared that she’s friends with UFC fighter Ignacio “La Jaula” Bahamondes and would love to do something with him together in the future.

I love training in Mexico in a performance center for UFC, and I have a really good friend. So I’m a big fan for UFC, and I hope one day we can do something together. I know it’s so different discipline with pro wrestling, but we’re fighter. And my friend, Jaula Bahamondes, is a famous in Chile. It’s a big, and my best friend, like in fight, you know, in wrestling. So he understand me about the sport, about the discipline. So, yeah, I hope one day we can do something together.”

Bianca Belair Is More Cautious About A Possible MMA Transition Compared To Stephanie Vaquer

Stephanie Vaquer wasn’t the only superstar during the aforementioned Sports Illustrated interview, but also Bianca Belair. However, when The EST of WWE was asked about a possible MMA transition, she had some rules in place.

Bianca shared that she respects MMA a lot and has seen multiple fighters and stars crossover with each other; however, she is comfortable about being a wrestler. Belair noted that if she ever did become a fighter, she would train vigorously first, and even noted her mother would be worried for her.
