Stephanie Vaquer addresses a vital difference between WWE and one of its top International rivals.
Earlier last year, Vaquer made her NXT debut after successful stints in several wrestling promotions, including AEW and CMLL. Vaquer recently defeated Fallon Henley to become the new NXT Women’s North American Champion.
With years of experience in several rival promotions of WWE, most notably in CMLL(Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre), a Mexico-based promotion, she opened up on the differences between there and her current company.
Speaking with Busted Open Radio, she said:
“CMLL. Because in CMLL, when you’re new, they say, okay, you’re new…good luck. See you in the ring. You’re so nervous…[but] now I feel really good because here in WWE is a teamwork. I can ask, and I can take, you can help me. I can ask. But in CMLL, nobody help you.
You’re alone. No teamwork. If you know wrestling, yeah, wrestle, and nobody’s…training, ‘Oh, you can teach me.’ No. You can say nothing, you can do nothing. You can ask nothing. Yeah, [it was] scary all the time. I cried every day, and I’m training every day. The first year, so difficult for me because I’m the new…I cry every day after the training. I cry every day because you can ask, you can, ‘Please help me,’ [but] no help.”

“I tried to think like an adult, that option. But WWE is my dream and say, okay, this is for me. Many options and talks but, say no. WWE is for me and I take NXT because I really like (to) do things or new things but good. I don’t like the fast and no good.”
