Stephanie McMahon has had quite the start to 2023.
On January 1st she was in position as WWE’s co-CEO alongside Nick Khan, as her husband Triple H ran the company’s creative and storylines. A handful of days later WWE was rocked by the return of Vince McMahon who installed himself onto the company’s Board of Directors. His return came after an earlier attempt have been rejected and was said to be in order to facilitate the sale of the company. Stephanie and Triple H are said to have opposed the idea of a sale.
By January 10th, Stephanie had left the company altogether and Vince was elected Executive Chairman.

With Stephanie McMahon now gone from WWE, reports have begun to emerge shedding some light on what led up to her exit. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has reported that she had “issues” working alongside her father Vince. This left Nick Khan acting as a buffer between the two. A role he also performed between Vince McMahon and Triple H.
Meltzer also noted that Stephanie was “essentially removed from her position” as co-CEO. Although McMahon announced her departure from WWE on January 10th, it appears that her fate was sealed a day earlier.
“Vince’s replacing Stephanie as Chairman of the Board was actually on 1/9, as was the unanimous vote with Stephanie off the board. Her letter of resignation from the company was taken officially the next day. Essentially she was removed from her position and then Vince was voted in unanimously.
Stephanie announced she was leaving, but unlike the first time, this was a complete break. It was not a leave of absence but a resignation. And she gave up her position on the Board of Directors.”
Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish Stephanie a speedy recovery.
