Stephanie McMahon Issues Public Apology To Mickie James

Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon has apologised to Mickie James personally, and on behalf of WWE, with the company’s Chief Brand Officer saying she’s “embarrassed” at the treatment of the recently released WWE legend.

Six-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James had taken to Twitter to share a photo of her recently returned belongings in a refuse sack, tagging Vince McMahon in an open letter, saying she received her “care package” and tagging “always blessed and grateful” and “women’s wrestling matters” in the statement.

“Dear @VinceMcMahon Im not sure if you’re aware, I did receive my @WWEcare package today. Thank you. #AlwaysBlessedandGrateful#WomensWrestlingMatters”

Taking to her own Twitter account, after Triple H and John Laurinaitis posted near identical tweets saying, “Upon learning of the disrespectful treatment some of our recently released talent received on behalf of the company, we took immediate action. The person responsible for this inconsiderate action has been fired” – with Triple H’s addition simply adding “and is no longer with WWE”, Stephanie McMahon broached the subject personally with James.
.@MickieJames I am embarrassed you or anyone else would be treated this way. I apologize personally and on behalf of @WWE. The person responsible is no longer with our company.

The employee responsible has been fired, Triple H confirmed.

Mickie James was one of the names on a lengthy list of WWE releases last week. The other names who departed the company were Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Mojo Rawley, Bo Dallas and Wesley Blake.
