Stephanie McMahon has upped the expectations for The Biggest Party of The Summer, saying that there is sure to be a lot of surprises at SummerSlam on August 21st.
As the date of WWE’s second-biggest pay-per-view of the year draws closer speculation is mounting as to who could be competing inside Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Reports have suggested that the WWE Universe could be set to welcome back Brock Lesnar to the ring. The Beast Incarnate has not been seen on WWE television since he lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in the main event of WrestleMania 36.
Other reports say that sixteen-time champion of the world John Cena could be set to try to break the tie with Ric Flair and challenge WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the show’s main event. The speculation is WWE wants to make this year’s SummerSlam even bigger than WrestleMania given they will be able to fill the home of NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders whereas they could only fill Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania to a fraction of its capacity due to social distancing measures.
One person not to expect to see in the ring at SummerSlam is WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon. Speaking to Yahoo Finance, McMahon was asked if she planned a return to the ring. According to McMahon, she’s still suffering from her last outing, when she and husband Triple H lost to Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34.
“Ever since Ronda Rousey broke my arm, I have a little PTSD. I’m not sure you’re going to see me in the ring anytime soon, but I guarantee for SummerSlam, there is going to be a lot of surprises.”
“The live event is where our event really comes to life,” WWE Chief Brand Officer @StephMcMahon says. “When you think about WWE superstars, they are akin to superheroes, except they’re real, genuine, authentic, you can come see them in person.” pic.twitter.com/OwMOKyjzI4

At last year’s SummerSlam one surprise has gone on to pay dividends for WWE as it begins to emerge from the pandemic era. Roman Reigns made his shocking return after the main event laying out both Braun Strowman and The Fiend, indicating he was ready to take his rightful place back at the head of the table.
