Stardom Wrestle Kingdom Dark Match Results

Prominent Japanese women’s promotion Stardom presented two dark matches ahead of New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom night two.

This marks the second consecutive year that Stardom, who are also owned by New Japan’s parent company Bushiroad, were showcased at the Tokyo Dome.

In what was a mixed night for the surging Donna del Mundo stable, the DDM trio of Himeka, Maika and Natsupoi fell to Queen’s Quest members Utami Hayashishita, Saya Kamitani and AZM.

In a match the went just shy of ten minutes, Saya pinned Natsupoi following a Phoenix Splash.

The result is particularly notable as Kamitani is considered to be one of Stardom’s brightest prospects and was included in the match ahead of notable absentee, and Queen’s Quest stable leader, Momo Watanabe.

In the second showcase bout, DDM representatives Giulia and Syuri defeated former STARS stablemates Mayu Iwatani and Tam Nakano, when Giulia pinned Tam following the Glorious Driver.

The result further cements Giulia’s position as a future cornerstone of the promotion whilst seemingly adding fuel to the fire between Iwatani and Nakano, the latter of whom recently broke away from Iwatani’s STARS stable to lead her own collective, The Cosmic Angels.

Stardom’s next card, New Years Stars, is set to run on Saturday 9th, January.

Matches currently announced include:

Donna del Mundo (Giulia, Maika and Natsupoi) vs Queen’s Quest (Utami Hayashishita, Momo Watanabe and AZM)

STARS (Mayu Iwatani and Starlight Kid) vs Odeo Corps (Natsuko Tora and Bea Priestley)

Cosmic Angels (Tam Nakano and Unagi Sakaya) vs Donna del Mundo (Himeka and Syuri)
