Will “the big guy” be returning to WWE at Bad Blood?
At WrestleMania 40, The Rock stepped inside the squared circle to compete for the first time in eight years, teaming with Roman Reigns to take on the team of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Rock was able to pin Rhodes, securing Bloodline Rules as the stipulation for Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship bout with Rhodes the following night.
Despite attempted interference from Bloodline members and The Great One himself, Rhodes was able to defeat Reigns and end his record-breaking championship run with help from John Cena, The Undertaker, and Seth Rollins, who distracted Reigns by dressing in his Shield gear.
The following night on Monday Night Raw, The Rock confronted Cody Rhodes once more and gave him a mystery gift, speculated to be a watch with significant meaning.
The real life Dwayne Johnson, who also sits on the board of WWE parent company TKO, has since returned to Hollywood, leading fans to wonder when he’ll return. It’s clear from his last appearance and from his social media presence that the story between Rock and Rhodes is far from over, and during Cody’s recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, a curious interaction led to speculation that he could come back sooner than later. As they greeted one another, McAfee and Rhodes had this conversation:
Pat McAfee: “Heard the big guy is coming back this week.”
Cody Rhodes: “Which one?”
Pat McAfee: “You told me enough!”
The Rock Is In Georgia Ahead Of WWE Bad Blood
Now, a recent social media post from The Rock has furthered speculation that he’ll be involved in some way at Bad Blood. The Great One is currently in the State of Georgia to support Apalachee High School’s Wildcats during their football game on October 4th. The team tragically lost one of their coaches in a school shooting that took place just one month ago, and tonight marks their first game since the tragedy took place. Rock has promised the team he would be in attendance, and made it clear he’s keeping his word, writing:
Big football game tonight as the Apalachee High School Wildcats take the field in their first home game back since their school’s mass shooting about a month ago.
These players, coaches, teachers, the entire community and ALL the students at Apalachee are the symbol of resilience, love and strength.
I promised them, I would be there tonight for them – and I will.
Win or lose, these Apalachee kids are already undefeated.
See you tonight, LETS GO.
💪🏾❤️
Apalachee High School is located just 1.5 hours from Atlanta, Georgia, where Bad Blood will emanate on October 5th.
