Sonya Deville Shares Heartfelt Reaction To Mandy Rose Winning NXT Women’s Championship

Sonya Deville, the former tag team partner of Mandy Rose has shared a touching message of support to her former partner after Rose claimed the NXT Women’s Title.

NXT Halloween Havoc promised to be a night of change for the recently relaunched brand and so it proved with multiple championships changing hands. Arguably the biggest of these was Mandy Rose shockingly defeating Raquel Gonzalez after interference from a returning Dakota Kai.

Following ‘Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal’ it was left to “Chucky’s Choice” to make the stipulation and the iconic doll and special guest chose a ‘Trick or Street Fight.’

The two women proceeded to throw everything at each other from the steel steps to kendo sticks to fire extinguishers in the pursuit of victory. However, the deciding factor proved to be the arrival of a hooded figure clutching a shovel who levelled Gonzalez with the weapon allowing Rose to hit the running knee to claim the win.

After the match the mysterious figure revealed themselves to be Dakota Kai as she stood over the now former champion. Kai hadn’t been seen on NXT since being defeated by Gonzalez at NXT TakeOver: 36.

The victory marks the first time Mandy Rose has held championship gold in WWE.

After Rose’s victory, former Fire and Desire partner and now on-screen WWE official Sonya Deville took to social media to celebrate:

“THATS MY BEST FRIEND! AND NEWWWWWWW @WWE_MandyRoseI’m so proud of you! All the hurdles all the obstacles and you prevailed my friend”

Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose still run their own her own donut blog – DaMandyz Donutz. A spin on Sonya Deville’s real name, Daria Berenato, and Mandy’s name.

The site boasts, “Follow WWE Superstars Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose on their quest of finding the best GLAZED Donuts from around the World.” Which sadly, with both Superstars no longer sharing the same brand, makes life a bit more difficult, but they do still run a YouTube series and sell merchandise for the brand, including selling t-shirts, bottles, hats, face masks, and phone cases with a bikini-clad Mandy Rose on them.
