Some WWE Stars Happy To See Vince McMahon Back In WWE

Roman Reigns & Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon’s return to WWE and a role in creative, might not be as universally disliked as previously believed.

McMahon retired from WWE in July 2022 following a sexual misconduct scandal before forcing his way back onto the Board of Directors in January. Following rumours about his input in WWE’s on-screen product, McMahon confirmed that he is involved in creative in April.

McMahon’s comments came as WWE agreed a deal with Endeavor over the sale of the company, which would see it merge with UFC.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman ran the April 3rd episode from the Gorilla position and has continued to have input remotely. This led to matches and portions of shows being changed, while it was reported that a number of stars were unhappy with McMahon’s involvement.

Despite this, it has now been suggested that McMahon does have some support on the roster. Speaking on a recent PWTorch audio show, Wade Keller noted that some people he’s spoken to are “at least happy Vince was back contributing to creative.”

Keller added that some feel they are getting a better push now McMahon is back involved once again.

“The wrestlers who are more sympathetic or okay with or even somewhat happy with Vince returning — the wrestlers I talked to directly like Vince better but they also indicated [that] they are not alone [and] that there are people who are happy Vince is back. It’s natural that some wrestlers would think that they were getting a better push under Vince McMahon than Paul Levesque because every booker is gonna have their favorites that they like a little more than others and those people get a boost and others will be like, hey, I think I was in a better position under Vince. Some of it is just that. It’s purely based on self-interest that they were getting a better push.”

Continuing on, Keller stated that one person backstage said McMahon was more focused on building babyfaces while Triple H is focused on heels.

“One person I asked said they think that Vince McMahon is more focused on building strong babyfaces and Paul Levesque has more of a focus, and an interest, in building heels…”

Vince McMahon Was Scheduled For WWE Backlash

Although Vince McMahon’s appearances at WWE events have been few and far between since his return to the company, they are by no means a thing of the past.

It was recently revealed that the Executive Chairman was scheduled to be at WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico.

McMahon hasn’t appeared on WWE television since introducing John Cena on a special episode of Raw to celebrate his 20th anniversary with the company.
