Hip hop legend Snoop Dogg has made no secret of his wrestling fandom, and at WrestleMania 39, he once again appeared on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Following Becky G’s rendition of America the Beautiful, The Miz made his way to the ring to welcome fans to WrestleMania. Miz is not set to compete on the card this weekend but has instead been named host of the spectacle.
Miz introduced Snoop Dogg to help him welcome the audience inside SoFi Stadium, running down his own accomplishments, pointing out how many championships he’s held before singing the praises of the WWE Hall of Famer as both a music legend and a Hollywood movie star. Snoop then joked that the two were the same in terms of their accolades, and Miz was quick to agree.
The two addressed the crowd before making way for the opening bout between John Cena and Austin Theory, which saw Theory defeat the 16-time World Champion with the A-Town Down after hitting Cena with a low blow out of view of the referee.
Snoop Dogg Has Appeared At WrestleMania Previously
This is far from the first time Snoop Dogg has appeared in WWE. At WrestleMania 32 in 2016, he appeared with his real-life cousin Mercedes Mone, then known as Sasha Banks. Snoop rapped his cousin to the ring for her triple threat match against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at the event. Despite encouragement from her cousin, Banks failed to capture the WWE Women’s Championship on that occasion as Charlotte Flair picked up the victory.
Snoop Dogg was inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.
