A prominent SmackDown star looks set for a spell on the side-lines after it was announced they recently suffered an injury.
After coming back to Friday Night SmackDown the Viking Raiders have been on a tear. Erik and Ivar have been in dominant form in their feud with the New Day besting their illustrious opponents on more than one occasion.
However, it appears that team’s momentum has now come to a shuddering halt.
Ahead of a Fatal-Four-Way number one contenders match on SmackDown, Michael Cole announced that Erik had suffered a foot injury and would be out for an “indefinite period of time.” It is believed that he suffered the injury back at the double taping on August 26th ahead of Clash At The Castle.
During the second taping for the show which was broadcast on September 2nd, the Viking Raiders defeated Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in a violent Viking Rules Match.
Back in the ring it was Ridge Holland and Butch who earned a shot at The Usos and the Undisputed Tag Team Titles. The victory came after Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci hit an Imperial Bomb on Kofi Kingston. However, in the process Holland made a blind tag enabling him to jump in the ring and pick up the win.
