SmackDown Star On Goldberg Giving Them Advice

A current SmackDown has has recalled being given advice by WWE Hall of Famer, and former World Champion Goldberg.

WCW legend Bill Goldberg was one of the most popular wrestling superstars in the world in the late ’90s. He had legions of fans, some of whom have since become wrestlers themselves.

Rising SmackDown star Madcap Moss is one such example. Prior to his recent showdown with buddy-turned-nemesis Happy Corbin, the former Riddick Moss sat down for a chat with the KFAN 100.3’s Power Trip Morning Show After Party Podcast. The former Golden Gophers football stud revealed that Goldberg had passed on some key advice to him for his budding career as a WWE Superstar.

However, just what the advice was, Moss was unclear about. Praising Goldberg’s explosiveness and intensity in his prime, the former WWE 24/7 Champion revealed he met the two-time WWE Universal Champion earlier this year at Elimination Chamber:

“My favourite wrestler growing up was Goldberg, Bill Goldberg in WCW, from the football aspect of his career. He played for the Falcons and at the University of Georgia, too. He was just so intense, man, and he was a monster physically. He was so physically imposing and impressive. The security would knock on his locker room door to come to get him before his match, and you’d hear just a thud in the background, and then he’d come out, and he’d have a mark on his forehead because he had just headbutted the steel locker to get ready for his match.

That’s just how he was, man. It was 100%, 100 miles an hour, full intensity all the time for him, and it drew me to him. I love him, and at an event in WWE Elimination Chamber, we were both on the show. I had a match against Drew McIntyre.

He had a match against Roman Reigns, and it was the first time I actually got to meet him, and it was really cool. We got to hang out for about a weekend and talk, and he kind of passed on some knowledge to me and definitely some stuff that I try to emulate in my performance today.” (H/T Fightful)

Elimination Chamber marked Goldberg’s long-on-the-cards showdown with Roman Reigns finally coming to fruition. Fortunately for ‘The Tribal Chief’, he was able to sidestep what happened the previous time Goldberg challenged for the Universal Title in Saudi Arabia. The former WCW Champion hasn’t wrestled since.

With his feud with ‘The Lone Wolf’ seemingly over, Madcap Moss looks tipped to move up the card in the near future.

So long as Goldberg‘s advice didn’t centre on headbutting doors, Madcap Moss could be a star to watch in the second half of 2022.
