A new SmackDown spin-off could be on the way after WWE filed a new trademark related to the blue brand.
It looks like a new WWE show could be hitting screens very soon after the company filed a new trademark.
The trademark is for “WWE The SmackDown Lowdown.” While there has been no official word on a potential new show, the trademark relates to “entertainment services with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

WWE is currently reeling from the news that Vince McMahon has stepped down as CEO and Chairman of the Board, as an investigation into an alleged pay-off given to a former employee continues. The investigation relates to claims that McMahon paid $3 million to a former employee with whom he had previously had an affair.
It has been announced that McMahon will appear on the June 17th edition of SmackDown. Interestingly it has been reported by Alex Sherman that the appearance will be made in character, and he’s “torn up the script” for the show.
