The card for WWE Extreme Rules 2022 just got that little bit more extreme, with the addition of a meaty six-man tag team match!
WWE’s 2022 Extreme Rules premium live event is now just over a week away, scheduled for Saturday, 8 October. Already announced for the event are a Strap match, a Ladder match, and a Fight Pit match but now, you can add a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match to that list.
As confirmed by WWE, Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci will face Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland of The Brawling Brutes in the match. This will come just one day removed from Gunther and Sheamus’ collision over the former’s Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown’s season premiere.
Imperium and The Brawling Brutes have waged war ever since ‘The Celtic Warrior’ earned his initial crack at Gunther’s championship. That match occurred at Clash At The Castle, with it going down a treat and being referred to by Sheamus as the biggest moment of his career.
WWE used the stipulation recently when Sheamus faced Drew McIntyre on the 29 July SmackDown. The match was essentially a basic Street Fight with a handful of Irish stereotypes added, such as kegs of alcohol at ringside.
