One of the main things that sets the Royal Rumble match apart from the rest of the WWE calendar and that makes it so special, is the element of surprise. Something which applies to the talent as well as the fans according to Shotzi Blackheart, who experienced her own whirlwind Royal Rumble appearance in 2020.

Speaking to Fightful, Blackheart opened up about the short notice she received before making her debut appearance at the event. The Ballsy Badass said that she only received a text informing her of her involvement a day and a half before she would step into the ring.

I mean, that was like a text message the night before. “Hey, get on a plane. You’re going to Texas.” Then getting there and being like, “Alright, here’s your number,” and I’m like, “What?” In a baseball stadium in front of too many people… I was up in my hotel room being like, “Is this real? What is my life?'”

Blackheart went on to reveal that she didn’t get nervous before her appearance, calling the Royal Rumble her favourite pay-per-view.

“No, not at all. I really didn’t even have time to think about it. But, the Royal Rumble has always been my favorite pay-per-view. It has the most surprises. It’s so much fun to watch. I was just ecstatic when girls got introduced finally and to be a part of the beginning of that? Insane. I mean, I got some good forearms from Beth Phoenix. That was enough for me”

The former AWS Women’s Champion entered at number 26 along with her tank, before being eliminated by eventual runner-up Shayna Baszler after 7 minutes and 57 seconds.

While it remains to be seen whether or not Shotzi Blackheart will be entering this years Rumble match, numerous Superstars have already been announced, including a returning Edge.
