Shelton Benjamin Seeking First-Time-Ever Accolade In AEW

Shelton Benjamin is looking to validate more than 20 years of hard work now that he is a member of the AEW roster.

Revealed to be MVP’s newest associate, Benjamin wasted little time in reminding the world what he is all about with impressive victories over Lio Rush and Sammy Guevara. Set to face Swerve Strickland on the October 30th episode of Dynamite, the match is also expected to be one of the highlights of the show.

Regarded as one of the most underrated stars of his era and someone who should have won a World Championship while in WWE, Benjamin is looking to right that wrong.

Speaking with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Benjamin confirmed that his AEW signing will be anything but a nostalgia run and he is still looking for that first-ever World Title:

I want a world title, period. That is one of the things I got in the business for. There was this article saying I was just happy to be on the roster. Where is this BS coming from? From the day I stepped into pro wrestling, I wanted to be a world heavyweight champion. Coming to AEW, that goal has not changed. I think everyone should strive for that. I think the day I retire that is something I am going to want. If I get the opportunity, I am going to make the most of it.
