Sheamus has taken to social media to post a series of backstage photographs taken after his battle with Edge on WWE SmackDown this past Friday.
‘The Celtic Warrior’ was hand-selected by the WWE Hall Of Famer for the bout in Toronto, which the Canadian announced afterwards would be his last match in his home city.
Edge picked up the win over the Irishman after hitting a devastating spear but the war would be left in the squared circle, with Sheamus’ post on ‘X’ revealing that the duo celebrated their first-ever battle with a pint of Guinness backstage after the show.
A Canadian & an Irishman had a brawl that would make a banshee bawl.. what then? They had a pint of Guinness and said good night & thank you all. #ThankYouEdge#Edge25pic.twitter.com/QmkbOnB5h2

Sheamus Respected By WWE Intercontinental Champion
As well as receiving the honour of being selected by Edge as his final hometown opponent, Sheamus has also been the recipient of praise by a former foe recently.
Reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther was recently interviewed by Fightful and shared his view that the Brawling Brutes member was a ‘great opponent’ following their encounter at 2022’s Clash At The Castle Premium Live Event:
“The thing is, I guess to some degree, but everything happens so fast that it’s very hard to actually sit back sometimes and enjoy or reflect on what happened and stuff like that. Overall, it was great. I think Clash at the Castle was good for me because it was the first big pay-per-view match for me, or PLE as we say now.
I could just showcase myself, showcase to the audience what I do. I think the style of match I put on is nothing they have really seen on that scale before. I think that’s why it stood out and why it was special, and Sheamus was a great opponent. He doesn’t stop, so you really gotta put a lot of effort into keeping the guy down.”
