Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Butch Stable Given New Name

Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Butch

The violence-loving faction made up of Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland has been handed an new name.

Back in November 2021 following the WWE Draft, Sheamus found himself on SmackDown, and quickly formed a new alliance with Ridge Holland. The former World Champion took the former Rugby League player under his wing, educating him in his special brand of violence.

The pair were later joined by Butch, the former Pete Dunne, on the March 11th of SmackDown. The episode is unfortunately remembered for Big E sustaining a broken neck during a match against Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

Over the following weeks and months the group has continued without a collective name, although they have been referred to as “Fight Night” in the past.

However, it has now been revealed that the group will be known as the “Brawling Brutes” going forwards, with the former “Fight Night” moniker simply a catchphrase. The new name was unveiled on a graphic, before being confirmed by the Irish star on social media.

On the May 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown Xavier Woods defeated Butch in singles action as the rivalry between the New Day and the Brutes continued. Despite the loss, Butch appeared unfazed, attacking Woods on the ramp as the King of the Ring was heading backstage.

Later in the show Woods laid down a challenge to the fighting trio, revealing that Kofi Kingston would be joining him back in action, along with a mystery partner.

The match is due to take place on May 27th.
