Shayna Baszler admits she began questioning her spot on the WWE main roster.
Before Shayna Baszler arrived on the WWE main roster, she was a two-time NXT Women’s Champion. Her first attempt at a championship on the main roster didn’t go so smoothly, losing to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36.
The Queen of Spades has since drifted on Raw and SmackDown, often forming makeshift tag teams with the likes of Nia Jax and Natalya. Now that Baszler appears to be getting a significant singles push on SmackDown, the Queen of Spades has reflected on the past two years spend with WWE.
In a recent interview with Rick Ucchino on Bleav in Pro Wrestling podcast, Baszler admitted to doubting herself since moving to the main roster.
“Obviously the dream for anybody that gets into this business is like win the title on a big show and have your moment. It just so happens, you know, I don’t even think it’s as far back as 2020, but real recently there’s been this kind of like, I don’t know… what am I doing right now? You know? And then that gauntlet match came about and it was like, okay, let’s go. And it was like the perfect time of like, this change is about, right? Change is in the air.”
Change may indeed be coming for Baszler as she’s set to challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship this weekend at Clash at the Castle. The Queen of Spades won a gauntlet match on SmackDown to become the number one contender.
