The Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative of NXT, Shawn Michaels currently plays one of the most vital roles in the development of the Tuesday-night show. With several promising stars on the roster and multiple compelling storylines, NXT has come a long way.
Recently during his interview on The Busted Open Radio, Shawn Michaels revealed his desire to step into the ring with former NXT Champion, Trick Williams and the other stars on the roster. HBK wants to play a vital role in their career and help them ‘hit a new level’.
I get it (that itch) with many of our talent. There are times that I wish I could just get in there with them once. Again, to help them. Again, you both know it. You’re in there with that certain somebody and then it is this feel, this feel, this mysterious feel we always talk about when we’re talking to one another or we’re talking to young talent. They’re able to grasp it. Right now, it’s something that alludes them.
They hear about, but you don’t know it until you’ve felt it and you know very — whether it’s you Bubba (Ray Dudley), whether it’s you Mark (Henry), or myself, there are times that you know I can make them feel this in that moment if I could just be out there with them. But look, that goes back to the patience on our part, the patience on their part and doing everything that we can to put them with the best people or put them in the right situations and give them the right mindset to know what it is they’re looking for and then to recognize when they see it or feel it.”
Williams is set to challenge Ethan Page on the upcoming NXT Premiere on the CW Network, with CM Punk as the special guest referee.
Shawn Michaels Reveals Why He Is Excited For WWE NXT’s Future
During a recent interview with Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated, Shawn Michaels shared his excitement for the future of WWE’s women’s division. With multiple big names on the current main roster, Michaels believes the upcoming stars from NXT can be great additions there as well.
Right now, whether it be Raw or SmackDown, there are some of the most talented women in all the world. You talk about Bayley, Charlotte Flair, IYO SKY and numerous others. And then you think about the possibility of adding a Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Jaida Parker, or a Roxanne Perez to that list. Absolutely unbelievable for the future of the WWE as a whole. We’re very excited about the work that we’re doing.”
