WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has clarified some facts about his current role as WWE Senior Vice President and confirmed when he became a company VP.
If you were an ardent viewer of WWE in the mid to late nineties and you kept up with the backstage gossip at that time then the fact that Shawn Michaels is a WWE Senior Vice President probably astounds you. But here we are in 2022 and it is reality and somehow makes all the sense in the world.
HBK continues to be his old DX partner Triple H’s right-hand man and currently acts as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. Speaking to My San Antonio Shawn Michaels confirms that although the senior part of his title is a recent addition, he has been a WWE VP for quite some time:
“I am not someone who talks a lot of the wrestling media, but I have been a vice president for the last year or year and a half. It was just recently I was promoted to Senior Vice President. They just never publicly said the other one, so a lot of people think a lot happened in a week or a week and a half.”
“But I came as a coach then last year became VP of talent creative and then, just recently now, go the senior position. I will not just be leading NXT but NXT Europe as it continues to expand. But, it has been busy. Very busy. But also a great deal of fun. The role continues to get more stacked, but it is something I am enjoying a great deal.”
Shawn Michaels’ interview took place as part of preparations for Royal Rumble 2023 tickets going on sale on Friday at 10 am. The event will take place at the Alamodome in Michaels’ hometown of San Antonio, Texas on January 28th.
