Shawn Michaels wants to teach Pat McAfee’s co-hosts a lesson.

The latest WWE 2K24 DLC titled The Pat McAfee Show Pack is set to drop on July 31st. Along with the announcer, who has competed in a number of matches, being available as a playable character for the cost of $9.99, co-hosts Ty Schmit, Boston Connor, AJ Hawk, and Darius Butler are also included despite not being wrestlers or made notable appearances on weekly programming.

The move stirred backlash among fans who pointed out that not only are McAfee’s co-hosts not wrestlers, popular NXT stars such as Sol Ruca and Lola Vice are not featured in the game.

On the July 23rd episode of The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee addressed the criticism faced online. Co-host Ty Schmit described the rising stars in NXT as “losers,” saying:

“…You know a lot of people are pissed, especially that D-Butch(Butler), Connor, myself, AJ are in it because they want some of these other losers that no one has ever heard of from NXT to be in the game. ‘Why are these guys not in the DLC pack?’ Well, it’s because no one wants to play with them, that’s why,” said Schmit. He added, “..At first, it was like, man, should I be upset that these people are pissed that we’re in the game? No, Absolutely not. F*ck them. That’s kind of where I stand.” [H/t to SEScoops]

NXT star Karmen Petrovic responded to McAfee’s co-host on social media, demanding respect for NXT.

Shawn Michaels Wants Co-Hosts To “Get Off Pat McAfee’s Jock”

Petrovic wasn’t the only star to respond to the inflammatory comments. NXT head Shawn Michaels also took to social media with a response, laying down a clear challenge.

@tyschmit @BostonConnr @DariusJButler @OfficialAJHawk I’ll put my 4 up against your 4 any day of the week. Just say when you want your A** kickin! #WWENXT #GetOffPatsJock

The Pat McAfee Show has been hit with multiple interruptions from the Wyatt Sicks in recent weeks, so the staff is well familiar with Pat’s life in WWE.

McAfee also recently announced that he would be returning to hosting duties at ESPN.

In a new interview, Shawn Michaels looked back on a SummerSlam match he feels deserves more recognition.
