As announced by WWE, Shawn Michaels will make his on-screen return this Wednesday on NXT.
The Heartbreak Kid will host a face-to-face meeting between NXT Champion Finn Balor and his challenger at TakeOver 31, Kyle O’Reilly, on this week’s episode of NXT.
The appearance marks the first time we’ll have seen Shawn Michaels in a WWE ring since taking a punt kick from Randy Orton on the August 17th episode of Monday Night Raw.

Three-time Tag Team Champion Kyle O’Reilly is no stranger to NXT gold. However, next Sunday represents a huge opportunity for the former Ring of Honor Champion.
As stated on WWE.com:
Finn Bálor and Kyle O’Reilly will go face to face just four days before their NXT Title showdown, and they’ll be joined by a WWE Hall of Famer.
Shawn Michaels will host a face-to-face meeting between the NXT Champion and his next challenger Wednesday night ahead of their match on Sunday, Oct. 4, at NXT TakeOver 31.
O’Reilly earned the right to take on Bálor after a gutsy performance in the first-ever Gauntlet Eliminator Match, going wire-to-wire and eliminating three competitors en route to the biggest victory of his career.
Also announced for the September 30th episode of NXT: Dakota Kai will take on Shotzi Blackheart, while O’Reilly’s Undisputed Era comrades will go up against Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan with a shot at NXT tag team Champions Breezango on the line.
NXT TakeOver 31 airs live on the WWE Network October 4th.
