Shawn Michaels has given an update on Bron Breakker’s WWE main roster status.
Entering the Royal Rumble at number 20, the former NXT Champion had a star-making performance which included eliminations of Ivar and Omos. After the match, Breakker seemingly confirmed that he would now be a part of the main roster in a post-match interview, describing it as his home. While some believe that Breakker will be a permanent fixture on Raw or SmackDown, it might not be as straightforward.
Speaking with the Battleground podcast, Michaels was asked if Breakker is graduating to the main roster. The Hall of Famer responded that although Breakker may feel like he is ready, there are still goals to accomplish in NXT:
“He may feel like that’s his home, but he still has work here in NXT to do, whether he likes it or not. Our job is to lose talent. He’s one that, I’m going to have trouble letting him go. I can assure you that there is more left for Bron Breakker here at NXT, one way or another. He’s an incredibly talented, very gifted young man. As far as I’m concerned, he’s young and, as we say, full of piss and vinegar. If he wants to double time, he can certainly do it, but I’m not letting him go that easy,”
Breakker is currently teaming with Baron Corbin in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The duo have made it to the final that will take place on NXT Vengeance Day. Their opponents will either be Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde or Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.
Shawn Michaels Extremely Complimentary Of Debuting Star
While Breakker was one of the stand-out performers of the Men’s Rumble match, the opening match saw Jade Cargill put on an amazing debut performance in the Women’s Royal Rumble. Shortly after signing with WWE, Shawn Michaels predicted big things for Jade Cargill in the future.
On April 9th, Bron Breakker said goodbye to NXT.
H/t to Fightful.
