Reports emerged recently that following AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa going down with an injury, many of her close friends had gone without regular AEW bookings. The news, which stemmed from a recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, saw Dave Meltzer state that KiLynn King, Madi Wrenkowski, and Jazmin Allure were among those names.
Shawn Dean, AEW‘s backstage extras coordinator, has since taken to Twitter to refute these claims. Posting a screenshot from the report in question, ‘The Captain’ called the news “BS” and reaffirmed fans that King, Wrenkowski, and Allure remained in “good standing” with AEW:
“It’s the kind of careless reporting like this causing unnecessary issues and problems for no reason! U have no info, yet still report this dumb bs! All those talented women are in good standing. So whoever brought that to ur attention is a liar and a fraud. #Salute”

In a follow-up tweet, Shawn Dean criticised anyone thinking they weren’t booked anymore simply because they’re friends with Thunder Rosa. Instead, Dean stated that their home location being Texas made it illogical for them to be brought to the east coast.
Thunder Rosa Has Been Absent For Two Months
Though she remains the official AEW Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa has remained absent from AEW programming since the company’s August 24th Dynamite. ‘La Mera Mera’ stated in a tearful backstage segment that she was being forced to stand down as the champion due to an undisclosed injury, which she has been nursing for the past two months.
At the time of this announcement, Rosa was a few months deep into her first reign with the championship, having dethroned Britt Baker at St. Patrick’s Day Slam in March. She’s still officially classed as the champion; her ThunderStorm partner Toni Storm has reigned as the interim champion since All Out.
The creation of an interim championship marked the third of its kind for 2022, following Jon Moxley and Sammy Guevara being crowned interim World and TNT Champions, respectively.
