Recent discussions within the wrestling community have centred around the possibility of Shane McMahon making a surprising move to AEW.

AEW’s Jim Ross, in a discussion on his “Grilling JR” podcast, expressed his thoughts on the matter, stating that the concept was “so crazy that it might work.” However, an intriguing development emerged when Conrad Thompson, Ross’ co-host, disclosed that he received a text from a source claiming that Shane McMahon had reached out to AEW talents to explore the hypothetical idea of joining the promotion.

Thompson shared the details during the Grilling JR podcast, stating:

There was a friend of ours. He went out of his way to text me, ‘Hey, that’s not as crazy as you think. I know for sure that Shane McMahon has reached out to wrestlers on the AEW roster to at least hypothetically discuss the idea.’

The extent to which these discussions have progressed remains unclear. Shane McMahon, who last appeared in a pro wrestling capacity during WrestleMania 39 in 2023, has been absent from the wrestling scene since sustaining a torn quadriceps during an impromptu match against The Miz.
