Shane Helms, also known as The Hurricane has taken to social media to show support for the latest round of WWE Superstars to be released by the company.

On April 15th 2021 it was announced that Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were among several Superstars to be released by WWE.

There is no news yet on the reason or rationale behind the releases, but it’s worth noting several WWE Superstars were released at almost exactly the same time last year with the company, as well as backstage workers being furloughed with WWE stating that the move was in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Posting on Twitter, Shane Helms who works backstage for WWE, wrote that he respected all of the performers who had been let go.

To those that got the call today, just about every successful person in this industry has received a similar call. It’s not the end of your story. You’re the author and I look forward to reading more. I respect you all.

Following the news of her release, Billie Kay herself took to social media, thanking WWE for making her dreams come true.

“Thank you WWE, Vince McMahon & HHH for the past 6 years. They have fulfilled my dreams entirely from being a 10-year-old girl that fell in love with WWE from the moment I saw The Rock on TV and now I’m walking away with so many incredible moments from Super Showdown in front of my friends and family, to winning the tag team championships at WrestleMania.”

Mickie James who was also among those released, penned her own statement, again thanking the fans and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

“Grateful for the memories. Grateful for the locker room. Grateful for the fans. Grateful for these little keys to my golden handcuffs. You can never expected others vision of you to be big as your own dreams. Thank you”

Chelsea Green, Mojo Rawley, Kalisto, Wesley Blake and Bo Dallas were also been released.
