Sha Samuels has confirmed that he has officially signed with World Wrestling Entertainment following a successful debut on NXT UK.
When the January 14 edition of the black and red brand opened, it did so on Sha Samuels already in the ring and awaiting his opponent. However, something was awry when the brand gave him to us as Ed Harvey.
With eyebrows raised – especially since WWE had been reported to file for the Sha Samuels name earlier in the week – Samuels, as Harvey, welcomed Joe Coffey to the ring and seconds later rolled to the arena floor, grabbed the microphone and announced that he wasn’t going to do things this way. Fighting against authority, the talent proudly announced that his name was Sha Samuels.
Though he fell to ‘The Iron King’ in a strong opener and entertaining debut, Samuels looked like nothing other than a complete star in defeat. He took Joe Coffey to the limit before finally succumbing to All the Best For the Bells.
Following his debut bout, Samuels took to Twitter to announce that he officially signed a WWE contract an was one of the company’s faithful going forward:
“Oi Oi!!! I have officially signed with the @WWE. It’s been a really long journey to get here. Full of ups, downs and loads of hard work. But the proper hard graft starts now! East x NXT UK.”

In one of the best shapes of his entire career, Samuels is an exciting signing for WWE which the British brand desperately needed after becoming stale in it’s mid-card. Much better than a spot down the ranks, it’s going to be fascinating to watch Sha work his way through the field and complete a journeyman tale to the top of the mountain.
