Sgt Slaughter Replies To Fan Request To Return To The WWE

Sgt Slaughter

WWE Hall Of Famer Sgt Slaughter has replied to a fan request for him to return to WWE but questions if Vince McMahon could afford him.

Sgt Slaughter has had a career like no other in WWE, first joining the company for two short spells in the early eighties before leaving the company in acrimonious circumstances when Vince McMahon refused him to be a part of a deal with toy company Hasbro to be the spokesperson for G.I. Joe.

Slaughter returned to WWE in 1990, achieving his greatest success as an Iraqi-sympathising US turncoat at the height of the first Gulf War. Sgt Slaughter captured the WWE Championship during this run from The Ultimate Warrior before losing the title to Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 7.

Given his character’s military background, Slaughter was sought after by a fan who compared his character to that of Lacey Evans on Raw. Sgt Slaughter responded on social media that he thinks Evans “needs” him but isn’t sure if Vince McMahon can now afford him:

“NO “Brainer” She Needs The Sarge, Butt can @VinceMcMahon Afford The YO * star emoji * JOE Sarge!?”

Slaughter last appeared in WWE on the special Legends Night edition of Raw that took place in January 2021. He last competed for the company back in 2012 when he challenged Cesaro for the United States Championship.
