Seth Rollins explained how WWE put a chip on his shoulder by slotting him on the kickoff show of a WWE pay-per-view with members of The Bloodline. Today, Rollins, Roman Reigns, and The Usos are at the top of their game and bona fide main eventers but back in 2013, they were once relegated to the kickoff show of a WWE pay-per-view and that changed everything for their mindset.
During their days in the shield, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns were the WWE Tag Team Champions. At WWE Money in the Bank 2013, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns defended the Tag Team Championship against Jimmy and Jey Uso on the kick-off show of the event. While they would all go on to headline pay-per-views in the future, on that night they were tasked with warming up the crowd and it’s a feeling that Rollins never forgot.
Seth Rollins Says That Moment Put A Chip On His Shoulder
Reflecting on that 2013 match on Twitter, Rollins claims this moment had all four men thinking it was time for them to steal the show so that they would never be placed in that position again.
Fun story: the 4 of us were so pissed about being on the kickoff that we had an extra chip on our shoulder for this one. Don’t think I’ve been on a kickoff since.
Since then, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have gone on to headline multiple WrestleManias. Jimmy and Jey Uso, as members of The Bloodline, have learned what it’s like to headline pay-per-views as well. As a team, Jimmy and Jey headlined WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 as well as WWE Survivor Series 2022.
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns currently do not see eye-to-eye on camera but recently Seth Rollins revealed that he isn’t sure he will ever be the top guy in WWE as long as Roman Reigns is around. Read more here.
