According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, ‘The Greater Good’ Seth Rollins has officially been written off of television.
As per Meltzer, Survivor Series was the final time we will Seth Rollins in WWE for a while as he heads home to be by the side of Becky Lynch as the couple expect the arrival of their first child together in December.
At WWE Survivor Series on November 22, Rollins mysteriously sacrificed himself in order that Team Raw may get the advantage over Team SmackDown. Tagging into the bout against Sheamus, Rollins opened his arms, fell to his knees and yelled, “for the greater good”, before allowing the Irishman to level him with a Brogue Kick.
The actions of Seth Rollins baffled many, but gave him a story to delve into upon his return to the company which Dave Meltzer has previously said is expected to be fairly soon.
Following WWE Survivor Series, Rollins took to Twitter to tweet a mystic message to the wrestling world. The only thing in his post was an ominously eerie black and white picture of him kneeling in front of ‘The Celtic Warrior.’
On the Friday Night SmackDown prior to WWE Survivor Series, Rollins wrapped up his rivalry with Murphy suffering a loss in a cracking bout and the week before drew to a close his long enmity with Rey Mysterio.
WWE has put Rollins’ affairs in order prior to his departure, leaving him and themselves a refreshing blank slate when he is ready to return.
