Seth Rollins is the latest name in wrestling to give their thoughts on the disaster that was Hulk Hogan’s appearance on the WWE Raw on Netflix premiere.
Making an unannounced appearance on the January 6th Raw, the Hall of Famer attempted to hype up the start of the Netflix era while also plugging his Real American Beer. However, in a moment that went viral for all the wrong reasons, Hulk Hogan was instead booed out of the building by the Los Angeles crowd.
While some claimed that the negative reaction was politically motivated as WWE was in California for the show and Hogan was a strong supporter of Donald Trump, many believe that Hogan’s 2015 racism controversy was the main reason. Following the release of a tape which contained footage of Hogan using racial slurs, the former World Champion was removed from the Hall of Fame for 3 years before being reinstated in 2018. In subsequent appearances, such as at WrestleMania 37 in 2021, The Hulkster has continued to be booed by fans in attendance.
In recent news, Kurt Angle has spoken about why he thinks Hulk Hogan was booed on the January 6 episode of Raw.
“If You Are Getting Booed, There’s A Reason For It”: Seth Rollins
Speaking with Kyle Brandt on Good Morning Football ahead of the Super Bowl this weekend, Rollins was asked about Hogan getting booed and his thoughts on the segment:
“I am all for people getting what they deserve, that’s how I feel about Hulk Hogan getting booed. If you are getting booed by the masses, there is a reason for it. I don’t know if Hulk fully understands the scope but people get what they deserve. So I’m happy to see it, I love to see it.
“Look, I’ve said this before about the Hulkster, he’s the guy that got me into this industry as far as love for professional wrestling. So I’ll never take that away from him. What he’s done for our business, I’ll never take that away from him. But I do think there’s some responsibility that he needs to own up to that he hasn’t yet. Maybe when he finally figures that out, might be able to move forward with our fans. So we’ll see.”
Speaking on his podcast, The Undertaker also gave his thoughts on the Hulk Hogan appearance.
In a new interview, Seth Rollins mapped out his ideal WrestleMania 41 match.
