Seth Rollins is set to do battle with an old rival at Money In The Bank.
After winning the new World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions, Rollins has proven he’s ready to defend the gold at every opportunity. The Visionary made his first defence against Damian Priest on the June 5th episode of Raw, and now another member of Judgment Day has stepped forward.
On June 12th, Finn Balor came to the ring and called out Rollins, saying that he’d been waiting seven years to tell him something. Balor said that back in 2016, Rollins took everything away from him, recalling when he was forced to relinquish the Universal Championship just 24 hours after defeating Rollins at SummerSlam to claim the gold.
Balor said that now it was his turn to take everything from Rollins. The new champion fired back that he’d been waiting years to see that version of Balor, commenting that the Irishman had become bitter, while he had got better.
Rollins then accepted Balor’s challenge for Money In The Bank and closed by saying that the version of Balor he faced back in 2016 had a chance, but the new Finn Balor didn’t.
Seth Rollins Has Lofty Goals For World Heavyweight Championship
Speaking in a recent interview, Seth Rollins delved into his aims for WWE’s newest World Championship. The former Shield star said that he doesn’t want the title to simply be a “workhorse title,” instead he’s determined to build it into being “as big as any championship in wrestling.”
