Seth Rollins has admitted that he used to be stubborn, something that “was a problem” during his early run in WWE.
During a recent Q&A for AdFreeShows, former WWE producer Road Dogg recently revealed that Seth Rollins refused to accept his advice while just starting in WWE. Road Dogg had an issue with one of Rollins’ set-up moves and wanted to improve them.
However, Seth Rollins would reject the Hall of Famer’s advice, which caused the former D-Generation X star to have a conversation with Triple H about The Architect being stubborn.
Road Dogg said that despite being immensely talented, the former NXT Champion had a bad habit of not showing any respect to him. Rollins did end up taking Road Dogg’s advice and changed up his routine but only after a long time of him having disagreements with the Hall of Famer.
In a recent interview with Sport1, Seth Rollins addressed Road Dogg’s remarks about him being stubborn during his early days in WWE. Despite having grown since then, the former WWE Champion admitted that he had a chip on his shoulder.
“Well, I was 25, 26 then, now I’m 36. If you don’t mature a bit over time, you’ve done something wrong ( laughs ). I used to be pretty stubborn, that’s true, and that was a problem starting in WWE twelve years ago and going through the NXT roster. On the other hand, my personality helped me because you need confidence to make it here, but it was difficult for me. It must also have been because I came from another world.”
Seth Rollins became the first ever NXT Champion before leaving the brand in 2012. He’d establish an impressive career on the main roster, earning multiple world championships and feuding with many top wrestlers.
The Architect was set to compete last night at SummerSlam against Riddle. However, WWE announced that Riddle suffered an injury which caused the match to be postponed to a later date. The two did end up brawling at one point during the show.
