Though Seth Rollins is one of World Wrestling Entertainment’s hottest commodities these days, it is heartwarming to see that he still remembers his roots. Before WWE, Seth Rollins was a regular in several top American indie promotions, such as Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Full Impact Pro.
In November of 2021, Seth Rollins gave full respect to a fellow independent star with whom he shared the ring on several occasions.
Seth Rollins’ Incredible Heartwarming Story
On the morning of November 16th, 2021, Jonathan Gresham announced via Twitter that he would be opening his own wrestling promotion: TERMINUS.
A promotional video accompanied the tweet for the promotion, which became the talk of the wrestling world that day. To help the announcement tweet gain exposure, Seth Rollins quote-tweeted a response, stating the below;
One time a young JG paid my booking fee—when the promoter couldn’t come up with the cash—so I would stay and work. We ended up tearing it up in front of about 6 people, & had a couple more bangers months later. He never looked back. Invest in yourself, friends.
According to Cagematch.net, Jonathan Gresham had three one-on-one matches in IWA Mid-South with Seth Rollins, who was then known as Tyler Black. Rollins won all three of these matches back in 2010. It is not clear which promotor Rollins was referring to in his tweet.
Rollins’ tweet gained 392 retweets and 3,560 likes, successfully helping Gresham with TERMINUS’ exposure to the wrestling world. With Seth Rollins’ Twitter following being at more than 4 million, it can be assumed that Jonathan Gresham was very grateful for the tweet.
The latest TERMINUS show, “TERMINUS 3”, occurred on July 21st, 2022. It streamed live on Fite TV and included matches such as Jonathan Gresham vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Masha Slamovich vs. Queen Aminata, and Jay Lethal vs. Baron Black. No other TERMINUS events have been announced at this time.
