Seth Rollins has addressed the travel problems which meant that he and wife Becky Lynch had to miss a recent WWE live event.
On December 26th, WWE split their crew and held two live events simultaneously. One event took place at Madison Square Garden in New York, and the other in Columbus, Ohio. While the event in New York seemingly went off without a hitch despite some travel delays, things were very different in Ohio with Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Bobby Lashley and Alexa Bliss all missing the event.
Seth Rollins Misses “Logistical Mess”
Seth Rollins had been due to face Austin Theory in the main event of the show but was replaced by Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano. Taking to social media one fan said that it was disappointing that the card had been changed. Rollins replied by confirming that travel was issue, adding that their bus had broken down on the side of the road.
In response to another fan, the former World Champion said that they had done everything to get to the show in time.
A report from Fightful Select noted that the event in Columbus, Ohio was a “logistical mess” with numerous talent arriving late while the four names mentioned above missed the show altogether. The report notes that WWE decided against running a live episode of Raw on December 26th in an effort to give production employees some more time off. If WWE would have run a live show it would have been the event in Ohio.
The SmackDown live event at Madison Square Garden featured the in-ring return of Bray Wyatt. The former World Champion wrestled in all black attire and worked as a babyface playing up to the crowd as he overcame Jinder Mahal.
The match marked Wyatt’s first in-ring action since April 11th 2021.
