Seth Rollins Lays Into Top WWE Star – “He’s A Selfish S.O.B”

Seth Rollins Sledgehammer

In the lead-up to the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins sparked controversy online when he was asked about his former colleague CM Punk.

When questioned over whether he would want the AEW star back in WWE, Rollins stated that he was a “cancer” and told him to stay away. In the same interview, the former World Champion also had some harsh words for Cody Rhodes.

Rollins and Rhodes became wrapped in a feud as soon as the latter made his walk through the curtain at WrestleMania 38. Rhodes was The Visionary’s surprise opponent on the night as he returned to WWE and eventually scored the win. The pair battled at WrestleMania Backlash with the same result before meeting one more time inside Hell In A Cell.

On that occasion, the American Nightmare famously competed with a serious pectoral injury. Shortly after the match, Rhodes took a break from WWE in order to undergo surgery.

Seth Rollins Lashes Out At “Selfish” Cody Rhodes

Speaking to Wrestling Inc. Senior News Editor Nick Hausman, Rollins was asked if Rhodes had won his respect during the match. The star explained that he never meant any disrespect towards Rhodes before branding him selfish.

“Look, I never had any disrespect towards Cody Rhodes,” Rollins said. “The only disrespect I had for Cody Rhodes was that he tried to come in and steal my spotlight. I shouldn’t say ‘tried to steal it.’ He tried to use my spotlight to catapult himself to where he wants to go. So there’s nothing more selfish in the world. Don’t let anything fool you. Cody Rhodes is a selfish S.O.B. He’s not coming back for anything but himself.”

Cody Rhodes returned to action at the Royal Rumble where he won the match of the same name to book a shot at the Undisputed Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Meanwhile, on the most recent episode of Raw Seth Rollins won his way into the upcoming Elimination Chamber match where he will attempt to regain the United States Title.
