In a heartfelt tribute on Twitter, Rollins credited his matches with The Briscoe Brothers as being the main reason he was signed to Ring Of Honor, while also echoing the sentiments of so many others in wrestling about what a great person Briscoe was and how he was driven by his love of his family.

“He and Mark being so selfless helped Jimmy and I find our footing as AOTF. Without him, I don’t know if Tyler Black could ever have been Seth Rollins. After I signed with WWE, Jay would come to the Salisbury house shows to drink beer and to hoot and holler. He loved the business and he was a great human and friend. Bigger than that he was an absolutely adoring father and husband.

Jay was one of those people who was always legitimately happy to see ya. He had a twinkle in his eye and hug waiting for me no matter how long we went without seeing each other. I’m crushed knowing that warmth is gone. My thoughts are with his family and friends. He was special.”

Seth joins numerous others in the wrestling community who have paid tribute to Briscoe since the tragic news of his passing was announced by AEW and ROH owner Tony Khan.

Amongst those were Sami Zayn, who also stated he would not be where is is today without the Briscoe Brothers, Triple H, who referred to Briscoe as “an incredible performer who had created a deep connection with fans across the globe” and Tommaso Ciampa, who said “Jay Briscoe defined passion… for his family, his friends, wrestling, and everything in between. I love you. I will miss you.”
