Seth Rollins has been at the top of WWE for around a decade. From his time as a member of the Shield, to the Authority’s chosen champion, to his feuds with Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt, Rollins has been a staple of WWE’s main-event scene.
But despite being positioned so strongly for so long, there’s one person that he has never beaten.
Seth Rollins has never beaten Cody Rhodes, not even at untelevised events
Whether it was intentional or simply the result of happenstance, Seth Rollins has never been able to beat Cody Rhodes one-on-one.
These two wrestlers go back as far as December 2010, when Cody beat Seth Rollins in a dark match on an episode of SmackDown. That was followed by a successful Intercontinental title defense by Cody two years later, but, again, that was also an untelevised match\.
The rest of the match between them from 2012 to 2014 were all tag and multi-man matches. In those situations, Rollins – usually as part of The Shield – did get the odd win over Rhodes and his side here and there.
But ever since Cody returned to WWE in 2022, Rollins’ win-loss record against him has been as lopsided as it gets.
Between WrestleMania 38 last year and February 5th, 2023, Cody and Rollins have wrestled each other twenty times. This includes Premium Live Events and untelevised/house shows. And Cody has won each and every one of them.
Aware of this interesting statistic, Cody spoke with Sportskeeda and was asked about his relationship with Rollins. As it turns out, while Cody respects Rollins, he doesn’t expect that the two of them will ever get along.
“If you ask him [Seth] the same thing, if he was sitting in this chair he’d tell you, he doesn’t like me, I don’t like Seth. We’re not gonna get along ever. However, the utmost respect for him. And for him to look at me as an asset made me not worry about what anyone else was thinking.”
