Seth Rollins Hits WWE Milestone

Huge Seth Rollins Match Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam

Seth Rollins has reached 100 days as World Heavyweight Champion.

September 4th marks the date of Rollins’ achievement, who won the title back at Night of Champions on May 27th. The Visionary still remains the inaugural champion as no one has been able to defeat him since the title was introduced on Monday Night Raw. The champions’ most recent defence came at the Payback Premium Live Event two days prior, where Rollins would defeat Shinsuke Nakamura to walk out of Hershey, PA still the champion.

The milestone overtakes Triple H’s first run as World Heavyweight Champion of 72 days, but Rollins still has a long way to go to become the longest World Heavyweight Champion of all time. That record is currently held by Batista, who held onto the title for 282 days.

In regards to Rollins’ personal World Championship record, the current reign eclipses his longest reign as Universal Champion [98 days] but is yet to surpass his reign as WWE Champion [221 days].

The World Heavyweight Champion is not entirely out of danger following the defence as Damian Priest still holds the Money in the Bank briefcase and is yet to successfully cash in his contract. Rollins knows the dangers of the briefcase all too well as he used it to his advantage in the main event of WrestleMania 31.

Seth Rollins Discusses Back Injuries

Despite retaining the championship against Nakamura at Payback, it could be argued that Rollins just survived as opposed to winning. Nakamura knew about Rollins’ back issues ahead of time and made sure to target it during the title match. The injuries that the champion is facing are very real and will require surgery in the future.
