Seth Rollins has thanked fans after his match at SummerSlam against Riddle was postponed.

On July 27th it was announced that Seth Rollins’ match against Riddle at SummerSlam is off. WWE announced on The Bump that Riddle had suffered a “brachial plexus injury” from an attack by Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins on Monday’s Raw.

In response, Rollins took to social media to thank fans for their support, blurring the lines between kayfabe and reality.

“For anyone who purchased a ticket to SummerSlam hoping to see me in action, I apologize. I did everything I could over the last 6 months to earn my spot on this show, but some things are out of my control. Thank you for always singing my song. They’ll hear ya someday.”

Interestingly Triple H quickly replied to the post writing “I hear you.” This has led to speculation that Rollins could still be in action at the show, although any potential opponent has yet to be announced.

Following the news of the cancellation it has been reported that the match was removed from the card as as result of “creative adjustments.” While the injury to Riddle was just a storyline mechanism to explain the decision.

The same report stated that the match still features in plans going forward and is now slated to take place at Clash At The Castle on September 3rd.

The change comes after it was reported that Triple H is aiming to make a “creative splash” at SummerSlam now that he has been made head of creative.
