Seth Rollins has revealed that he and Matt Riddle have put their issues to bed.
The problems between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle first came to light in 2020, when Riddle’s then-wife was critical of Becky Lynch — Rollins’ wife — and other WWE stars on social media. Although the post was later deleted, Rollins stated he had “no interest” in working with the former MMA star.
Multiple reports suggested there was very real tension between the pair, and this played into a storyline that lasted through the summer of 2022. In one highly-charged segment on Raw, Rollins referenced Riddle’s ongoing divorce and made comments about the star not being able to see his children.
Speaking during an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul, Rollins admitted that there was a “real-life beef” between the pair. However, Riddle apologised, and they were able to work together and move on.
“What about him? Well, his wife did [leave him]. I don’t think there’s such a thing as too far. You remember it, and we’re talking about months later, so that’s what I’m talking about the moments, man. That’s it. We had a bit of real-life beef if you will. I had a bit of an issue with him. So you kind of got to see that play out on live television a little bit, so we worked it to our favor because now we have a moment that’s viral and something you remember that affected you, so, win win win I would say.
Fine, totally good. I’m a professional. We can work together, things that happened outside of here, that is what it is. He apologized, and we mended fences, and I’m all about, like, I don’t write anybody off, I’m not one of those guys that’s like ‘no second chances, you do wrong by me, I hate you forever,’ like I’m not that stubborn, it’s not that serious unless you do some real nasty things. Everybody makes mistakes, and I’m big on forgiveness and second chances. I’ll forgive, not always forget and move forward. He was a big man, came forward and apologized, and we’re able to work together, and I’m happy for that.”
Seth Rollins Set For Match With Long-Time Rival At SummerSlam
While Seth Rollins’ rivalry with Matt Riddle might be a thing of the past, his on-screen rivalry with Finn Balor is set to run a little while longer. It’s been confirmed that the pair will meet at SummerSlam a month after Rollins defeated Balor at Money In The Bank to retain his World Heavyweight Championship.
