Seth Rollins Gives Injury Update; When Will He Return To Action In WWE?

Huge Seth Rollins Match Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam

Seth Rollins is hoping to be back in the ring well ahead of WrestleMania XL.

The main event of the January 15th episode of Monday Night Raw saw Seth Rollins defend his World Heavyweight Championship against fellow former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Despite consistent interference from Indus Sher, Rollins was victorious in retaining his title.

However, in the course of the match, the champion could be seen clutching his knee, and it was later reported that he’d suffered a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus. Seth Rollins addressed the injury on the following episode of Raw, confirming that he had a grade 2 tear of his MCL and a partial meniscus tear. After being confronted by Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Rollins declared that nothing would keep him away from defending his title at WrestleMania.

“No Problem” – Seth Rollins On Appearing at WrestleMania XL

Now, appearing on Good Morning Football, Seth Rollins said that not only will he be in action at WrestleMania, he hopes to return to the ring much sooner than the first weekend in April.

“Oh, WrestleMania 40, no problem. We got this bad boy. We got this. I’ll be back way before then, for sure. I tore my MCL, tore my meniscus about three weeks ago now, and it sucks. If you’ve ever had an MCL sprain or any sort of damage to that part of your knee, it’s not comfortable.

“But doing all the right things, rehabbing. Fortunately, it was just a partial tear and not a full tear. We’re able to avoid surgery for the time being. We’ll see what happens after WrestleMania. We’ll see how long I can ride on these wheels, but rehab’s going great. I feel great, I feel like I recently just kind of turned a corner, as a matter of fact, on this knee. So I’m feeling really good. Definitely will be ready before WrestleMania, and I’m hoping sometime in the next few weeks.”

Prior to the Royal Rumble, reports indicated that Seth Rollins was in line to face CM Punk on the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, CM Punk suffered a torn triceps in the Rumble match and won’t be back in action until well after WrestleMania after undergoing surgery.
